>Ross Wallis AppleDistinguished Educator
Ross
Wallis is Head of Art at a small independent secondary
school. He has been involved in exploring the potential
of digital creativity somewhere near two decades,
developing a digital curriculum within his art department
and running training sessions for a variety of
organisations. The following is testament from one of the
latter : `"The sessions Ross delivered were excellent, he
is a great teacher and his enthusiasm for the project has
motivated both teachers and students. What came across
from the sessions was that it is possible for all
students to create great images using simple digital
tools. The training sessions stimulated students to
think about their own creativity, to focus on the kind of
art they want to create and on the ease with which
digital imaging tools can help express those creative
ideas."
Ross was instrumental in setting up and running a project
for Hewlett Packard; '@rtexchange' the aim of which was
to encourage school students from across Europe to share
cultural experience through showing their digital art
work on a shared website www.artexchange.org He
is also the author of an interactive DVD 'Exploring
Digital Arts' available from SFE.
